Ego death is not literal in the way spiritual teachings and movies make it out to be. You don’t kill your ego to become one with the universe and the God Consciousness. Your ego is your first line of defence. It is protecting you from something that you think doesn’t deserve you. But how it comes across, is dependent on your current frequency. Vibrate on a lower frequency and the ego shows up as arrogance, defiance and malice. Heal your wounds and vibrate higher, and your ego shows up as boundaries, protection and a sense of you deserving better than what you are getting. It’s defence, not defiance. And people often confuse the two.
But, you may think, that once you are “integrated” with God Consciousness and you are one with the universe, you won’t need to be defensive… you will be so aligned and so complete with your highest timeline and calling that ego will dissolve. Wrong. If that were true, God wouldn’t be worshipped like he is. A controversial take, I know, but it’s literally not human to have an ego. God has an ego that tells you to worship him because he is. But we all are made from source so we too have the same blue print that he does. It’s not literal worshipping, but if everyone were created equal and everything is the same as it comes from source and people didn’t have different life paths and stages in healing, and everything just was as the Source is; you wouldn’t say you deserve better than what you are getting. Maybe it’s a job, a romantic interest, a friend group.
You have the ego to believe that you deserve better because you are better in some regard and that wouldn’t be possible if all were equal. There is a hierarchy of who is where, not everyone is equal in the literal or even metaphorical sense. Many souls spend lifetimes to become higher level souls that have evolved to be at a level higher than new souls. Many souls learn tough karmic lessons and do their homework to become more advanced than those who don’t. It’s a choice that one makes to understand life better, not necessarily to become one with the universe. Or maybe that’s an ultimate goal, but it’s not something to actively work on.
The point is, ego death is a farce. Anyone doing shadow work knows to integrate their shadows and become more aligned and healed. When you do that, and don’t evolve your ego to have better boundaries, know what’s best for you or allow just anyone in your auric field, you didn’t kill your ego, you became defenceless and raw and open yourself up to low vibrational energies that may latch on to you. That’s literally more trouble than it’s worth. And let’s not forget we are having a 3-dimensional experience in a 3-dimensional body, in a 3-dimensional world. You have to be grounded in your body. Your ego is literally your first line of defence. Don’t try to be a saint and let anyone know your business or treat you like shit because you think they don’t know better and that you are above all that. Be vigilant, vet people correctly, and protect your peace above all else.
